The building was built in 1969 by J. D. Withers and occupied by the Postal Service. Thelma Elliott was Post Master at the time. The City of Auburn purchased the building in 1990 for use as a new City Hall. After City Hall moved to it’s new location on Fourth Avenue, the building served as the Auburn Library until 2007.
The Library moved to it’s new location in 2007 and the building sat dormant for about a year and a half. It now has been renovated and is a great place for small gatherings.
This is a long awaited facility for Auburn and is the beginning of better things to come.
