Can I remain anonymous when reporting a Code Enforcement Violation?
Yes. We do not require that you provide any personal information when registering your complaint. Remember that all information you choose to provide to the City, including names, phone numbers, or email addresses, is subject to the Public Record Laws. In other words, we must provide this information to anyone who asks for it. If you wish to remain completely anonymous, do not provide your personal information.

Am I responsible for pre-existing problems on a property I purchase?
Yes. The property owner is responsible.

What happens after I receive a notice from the City to correct neighborhood code violations?
The violator and/or property owner may have up to 10 days to correct the violation or to appeal the notice. Dangerous situations must be remedied Immediately.

Why should I be responsible for upkeep at my property? My tenant is responsible for the problems.
Property owners are ultimately responsible for all repairs and upkeep to their properties.
